WPL 2023 : Royal Challengers Bangalore Women end their inaugural campaign with a 4-wicket loss against MI Women!

The final match day of the league phase of the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League will finish tonight with UP Warriorz taking on Delhi Capitals Women in the last match. Tuesday featured a double header with RCB Women taking on MI Women for the first encounter of the day.

Smriti Mandhana’s side were aiming to end their disastrous season on a high note but Harmanpreet Kaur’s side handed them their 6th loss of the season. The reverse fixture of the 2 teams was won MI Women and earlier today they completed the double over the league leaders.

For the first time this season, Harmanpreet had won the toss and asaked RCB Women to bat first at the DY Patil Stadium. They got off to a decent start through Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia as the duo amassed 53 runs for the first wicket before Bhatia got out for 30 runs.

MI’s middle order collapsed as Nat Sciver Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur shared only 15 runs between them while Kiwi All-rounder Amelia Kerr scored 31 runs.
