Why Leo Messi is still ‘ANGRY’ with FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta?

Its been more than 9 months since Leo Messi signed for Paris Saint Germain in 2021 yet there are talks about Messi returning to Camp Nou someday and recently reported, that Barcelona former player Leo Messi is angry with the FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta.

Joan Laporta recently been talking about Messi’s departure as the president he failed to offer the Barcelona legend a new contract last year as promised due to the strict regulations of La Liga’s salary cap.

As the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner moved to Paris as a free agent. But still FC Barcelona President Laporta never missed a chance to discuss Messi’s departure. 

In his latest interview with L’Esportiu this week, FC Barcelona President, Joan Laporta stated,

“Leo left how he left,” Laporta said.

“We would all have liked him to end his sporting career here, but because of [La Liga’s] fair play rules and because of PSG’s offer, it was not to be.

“If he wants to return one day, it would have to be for free. And the technical staff would have to decide if he fits the new project or not,” Laporta added.

In addition, when asked about Brazilian star Neymar, Laporta pointed out that the Brazilian “has a contract with PSG” and “four or five years left”.

But then Laporta also mentioned that “these players who have signed for clubs like PSG have almost signed [up for] their slavery. For money.”

On the Cadena SER ‘El Larguero’ radio program, It was reported that Leo Messi and his staff are “ANGRY” with Joan Laporta’s comments on how Leo Messi left Barcelona.

It was also reported, that Messi’s father and football agent Jorge had been called to FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta a few months back and asked him to stop talking about Leo Messi.

Leo Messi has signed his two-year contract at Parc des Princes and it’s very unlikely for Barcelona fans that Messi will ever return to Camp Nou ever again.
