Rohit Sharma takes a dig at Hardik Pandya

5-time IPL winning captain with Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma in a recent interview with renowned host Anant Tyagi apparently took an indirect dig at Hardik Pandya who currently leads IPL outfit Gujarat Titans and also led the team towards an Indian Premier League title in their debut season in 2022.

As we all know, Hardik Pandya burst onto the scene as a Mumbai Indians player and due to his extra-ordinary All-round performances, Pandya found his way into the Indian team. Not just him, but players like Jasprit Bumrah, Krunal Pandya, Ishan Kishan among others have also made their senior debut for India after impressing for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.

In a 2-minute video clip which is going viral on Social media, Rohit Sharma gave a fitting response when Anant Tyagi asked him whether he complies with MI’s philosophy of creating young talented players into superstars for the future.

To that Rohit Sharma made it very clear that yes Mumbai Indians do create superstars and have been home to renowned players like Pollard, De Kock among others but the amount of hard work that the franchise puts behind the scene is very less talked about.

Rohit stated that Mumbai Indians’ scouting team works extremely hard to pick the right type of players into the team and later on the management works even harder to ensure they are performing at the best possible level. The 36-year-old mentioned the names of Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah who were scouted first and then were given time to fully accelerate.

Rohit Sharma also said that Mumbai Indians have their own way of utilizing the players and it is easy for outsiders to say that MI are a superstar team because no one notices the hard work during the off-season.
