Watch: Virat Kohli takes a one-handed stunner to send back Labuschagne

Having won the toss and opted to bat first, Australia didn’t start as well as they would have liked, losing both their openers inside 10 overs. Indian seamers made a brilliant start to the innings not giving them any room whatsoever.

However, Australian test stalwarts, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne thereafter steadied the ship and put Australia back on track. The duo made sure there was no further damage till the next 20 overs. However, just when it looked like they were taking the game away from the Indians, the skipper Virat Kohli took a stunner to send Labuschagne back to the pavilion.

On the third ball of the 32nd over, Labuschagne slapped Jadeja through the covers only to see Kohli diving to his right and take a brilliant catch. In an attempt to up the ante, Australians sent Mitchell Starc, however, the experiment failed with the left-hander getting out in the same over.

Indian fielders have been spot on in the outfield, in particular, Virat Kohli and Manish Pandey. India has certainly saved a lot of runs today, courtesy brilliant fielding by the men in blue. Earlier in the first ODI, Manish Pandey also pulled off a brilliant catch to send Warner back cheaply.

Steve Smith and wicket-keeper batsman are currently out in the middle with both leading Australia’s comeback. The Aussies are 223/4 after 40 overs.

With both sides winning one match apiece, India and Australia are currently playing the third and final ODI of the series at M. Chinnaswamy stadium.
