“To be honest, when I initially opened the India U-19 jersey with my name and number on the back, 18 was just a number that was given to me. But in the end, it turned out to be a really significant number in my life. On August 18, I made my debut in India. On December 18, 2006, my father passed away as well. On the 18th, I experienced two of my life’s most important events. Although I received the number earlier, this day appears to have some cosmic and deep significance” said Kohli in a video uploaded by Star Sports.
Kohli said that he feels “blessed” to see supporters wearing shirts bearing his name and number.
