Watch: Umesh Yadav's Stunning Catch which led to the dismissal of Rohit Sharma

Umesh Yadav grabbed a brilliant catch at mid-off to end Rohit Sharma’s innings during Kolkata Knight Riders’ IPL 2023 match against Mumbai Indians. The batsman, who entered the game as a ‘Impact Substitute’ in the second innings, batted first with Ishan Kishan. He started slowly, but just as his innings began to gain up speed, KKR spinner Suyash Sharma dismissed him with a score of 20 from 13 balls. Umesh, who took a fantastic catch diving to his left, also deserves credit for the wicket.

Suyash threw a tossed-up delivery to Rohit on the fifth ball of the over despite being hit for a six on the first ball of the fifth over. Umesh made a fantastic catch to end Rohit’s innings after he was unable to control his drive.

It’s important to note that Rohit wasn’t in the starting lineup when the game began; substitute captain Suryakumar Yadav claimed the regular captain had a “stomach bug.” The ‘Impact Substitute’, Rohit, however, came out to open alongside Ishan Kishan as KKR’s batting came to an end with a total of 185 runs on the board.

The wicket appears to be dry, so I’d love to bowl first. Later, the ball smoothly transitions to the bat. Rohit is absent because of a stomach virus. It’s time to perform well. Suryakumar had stated at the time of the toss, “We are going with one change, Duan Jansen comes in, rest is similar.

In the first innings of the match, Venkatesh Iyer scored 104 (51), a blazing stroke that brought the team’s total to 185/6 in 20 overs, marking the first century for KKR in 15 years.
