Rinku Singh played a blistering knock in yesterday’s encounter where he amassed 30 runs in the last over against Gujarat Titans.
He was asked about what was going in his mind while he was batting in this important clash against Titans to which he responded “Message was clear from other end as Umesh Bhai who was batting with me on the other end told me to not think and simply hit the ball”.Â
The match becomes iconic as the last over required 30 runs to win to which where Yadav took single of the first ball and for the remaining five balls hit five sixes to win this important encounter.
“To be honest I was not thinking much. Just reacting to every ball,” Rinku said at the post-match presentation. “I never thought I would hit five sixes. I just kept hitting. I had the belief. And we won the match”.
Singh was absolutely sensational in the game against Gujarat where he amassed 48 runs from 21 balls where 40 runs was scored in last 7 deliveries.
“I had the inner belief that I can do it because I had also played [a similar] innings last year against Lucknow [Super Giants]. There also I had such a belief and today, too, I showed that belief. Rana bhai told me: “belief rakhiyo, aakhri tak kheliyo (keep the belief, stay till the end),” he said.
The way match panned out, in the last encounter between LSG and GT where Rashid Khan took a hatrick, but ultimately his performance was overshadowed by Rinku Singh and the moment Singh played this blistering Knock, his humble journey has been celebrated on social media.
