Watch: Twitter Reacts After Virat Kohli’s Shoe Gesture For LSG Star Naveen-ul-Haq
The IPL 2023 match between the Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday will go down in history for all the wrong reasons. Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli, two of India’s greatest cricketers, were spotted exchanging passionate words after the game as tempers frayed.
Uncertainty surrounds what sparked the irate response, but many social media users suggested that the rivalry between the two IPL clubs was to blame. In Bengaluru during their first leg encounter, which was fiercely contested, LSG players and coach Gambhir were spotted reacting aggressively.
When an LSG batter was struck out during the second leg of their match on Monday in Lucknow, Kohli became quite animated. In the 17th over, he even engaged in verbal combat with LSG’s Afghan player Naveen-ul-Haq. The images do not make it apparent who instigated the confrontation or what was said specifically. Even as the former RCB captain kept pointing to his shoe and spoke to the Afghanistan player, match footage revealed that Amit Mishra, the second LSG hitter at the crease and one of the umpires, separated Kohli from Naveen.
And now, many tweets and comments about it are appearing on social media platforms like Twitter and it has been the topic of discussion.

Kohli always showed respect towards Afghans like Rashid Khan and Gurbaz who did the same thing too. I can bet , that Naveen for sure would’ve said something which made him do it that shoe gesture which he did last time in front of australian crowd.👍 pic.twitter.com/tcYraAb23f

RCB’s Glenn Mexwell separated LSG bowler Naveen-ul-Haq and Kohli after they were spotted arguing as the players shook hands following the game.
Gambhir then yanked Mayers away from a conversation with Kohli.
Soon after, Gambhir was seen storming towards Kohli while being restrained by LSG players, including injured captain KL Rahul. But finally Kohli and Gambhir into a furious altercation as players from both teams surrounded them to separate.
