The BCCI is the wealthiest cricket organisation in the world and compensates its players well. The players that are under contract receive a sizable income in addition to match money for each game they take part in. The average salary for players in Grade A+ is Rs 7 crore, while the average salary for players in Grade A is Rs 5 crore. Group B and Group C employees are paid a salary of 3 and 1 crore rupees, respectively.

As was already noted, players receive match fees for each match they participate in, plus any prize money they may receive. Your mind will be blown by the amount that each Indian player makes from merely participating in a Test match.

When it comes to test matches, a player’s fees is Rs 15 lakhs every test match. Whereas up until 2016, Indian players were paid 7 lakh rupees every match, the BCCI later raised this amount in October 2016. So, if team’s regular Star players like Virat Kohli plays all four matches in the current Border Gavaskar Trophy, he will earn a sum of 60 lakh rupees.

In terms of ODIs, a single game pays the players Rs. 6 lakh. Typically, a 50-over match lasts for eight hours. A player receives Rs 3 lakh in compensation for playing in a T20I. As a result, an Indian player who participates in 10 Test matches per year will get the same wage as someone who participates in 50 T20Is.

Also, the players make money by competing in other leagues, having cash rewards and doing advertisements for different brands. The IPL pays the male players enormous wages, while the first Women’s Premier League will feature female cricketers.
