The IPL 2023 has been underway for about a month, and for the past four weeks, the sole topic of conversation, contention, or query has been whether this will be MS Dhoni’s final IPL season. In contrast to his current teammates in the league, who have grown weary of wondering on the same as supporters carry on to ask with each passing match, neither his Chennai Super Kings teammates nor authorities have spoken on the situation.
And Dhoni, as usual, has left the supporters guessing by bringing up the subject practically immediately following each game. Sunday was the same. Dhoni made a baffling comment just after CSK defeated Kolkata Knight Riders to excite the crowd.

In IPL 2023, Chennai has been on an unstoppable tear. Despite having injury problems, Dhoni as well the coaching staff were able to find the perfect substitutes, which allowed them to win five of their first seven games and take the top spot in the standings.

Ajinkya Rahane, Devon Conway, and Shivam Dube’s outstanding performances on Sunday helped CSK to a staggering total of 235 for 4 while the bowlers held KKR to just 49 runs short of the mark.

After the victory, during the post-game interview, Dhoni was questioned about the CSK fan invasion at the Eden Gardens, which turned KKR’s stadium into a “sea of yellow,” according to Ravi Shastri. The captain’s response moved the audience to tears. He thanked the onlookers since he thought that many supporters had come to say goodbye to him.
“I will just say thanks for the support, they came in big numbers. Most of these guys will come in a KKR jersey next time. They are trying to give me a farewell, so thanks a lot to the crowd,” Dhoni said.
