WATCH: Mesut Ozil celebration & Cesc Fabregas praises man in form

Former Arsenal midfielder, Cesc Fabregas has sent a message to the Gunners’ attacking midfielder, Mesut Ozil following Arsenal’s emphatic victory over Ole Gunnar  Solskjaer’s Manchester United on Wednesday night (New Year  Day).

The Gerrman midfielder, Mesut Ozil provided the assist for record signing Nicolas Pepe’s opener in the 2-0 victory over their rivals and was back to his best throughout the clash at the Emirates.

Reacting to their first victory under Arteta, the Spaniard added:

  ‘Best Arsenal game in a long time. Really enjoyed it.’

The former Catalan midfielder also sent a personal message to the German international, commenting on his post:

“Bossed it man,”

along with a thumbs up and applause emojis.

After the match Arteta opened up on what business Arsenal could do in the January transfer window.

“We’re going to try to be in the market to see options that can strengthen the team,”

Mikel Arteta also added;

“That’s for sure and that’s our obligation, and we’re going to be working on that. My obligation is to give my opinion on the things we can improve.”

After the victory against the fifth-placed Manchester United, Arsenal now sits in 10th place in the Premier League, nine points behind Chelsea who sit in the final Champions League qualifying spot. The new permanent manager, Mikel Arteta hopes that the victory on New Year Day can help generate the confidence that will help build momentum and propel them back into the top-four contention.

Arteta said:

‘At the end of the day, we’re getting judged by results. That’s going to give the players a massive lift in terms of confidence, that they can play against any opponent in this league and be better than them, dominate them, and compete against them.’

Arsenal will face Leeds United in their next fixture on January 6th. Also, Arsenal will take on the Eagles on the weekend in the Premier League.
