Watch : Kagiso Rabada becomes the fastest to 100 Wickets in IPL in terms of fewest matches and balls!

South African speedster Kagiso Rabada has well and truly announced himself in the Indian Premier League season 16. The Punjab Senior pacer last night during his side’s loss against Gujarat Titans became the fastest bowler to reach triple figures.

He claimed his 100th IPL wicket by removing GT opener Wriddhiman Saha in the 4th ball of the 5th over in 2nd innings as Punjab had set out to defend 154 runs. Although the result wasn’t the one that Rabada and Punjab would have expected but they did put up a show at Mohali.

Punjab’s bowling unit was able to strech the game to the very last over but “The Insipirational” Rahul Tewatia helped GT secure 2 points. After the loss, Punjab now take the 6th place in the points table with 4 points to their name.

But it was a great outing for Kagiso Rabada as he also overtook West Indies legend Dwayne Bravo and Lasith Malinga’s record of 100 wickets. The 27-year-old was able to achieve this famous feat in 64 matches and just 1438 deliveries to reach a Century of wickets in IPL cricket.

In terms of matches taken, the former Delhi Capitals pacer overtook Lasith Malinga’s record of 70 matches taken to 100 wickets. And in terms of fewest balls taken, Rabada replaced Dwayne Bravo to go on top. Bravo bowled 1619 balls where as Lasith Malinga and Harshal Patel are number 2 & 3 with 1622 balls and 1647 balls respectively.

For a fact, ever since Rabada broke out in the IPL scene, he has been a top shot and a threat for the oppositions. Delhi Capitals should feel bad for letting him go as the 28-year-old arrived at a young age and had proved to be an asset for them and helped the franchise reach the 2020 finals.
