On March 14th, international Kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambia was shot dead in Jalandhar.

On Tuesday night in Patiala, Kabaddi player Dharminder Singh was shot dead outside Punjabi University.

Known as Dharminder Singh, He was the president of the kabaddi club at Daun Kalan village. Although Dharminder was also politically active, he had campaigned for the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab.

According to police officials, Dharminder Singh has shot allegedly due to some personal grudge, ANI reported.

“We have registered a case in the matter and looking for the accused. The deceased and accused both are the residents of Daun Kalan village in Patiala district,” said Patiala Superintendent of Police Harpal Singh.

Dharminder’s younger brother stated, “My brother was a Kabaddi player and used to organize Kabaddi matches as well.”

A video of the incident has also gone viral on social media.

After the incident took place, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu met the family of Kabaddi player Dharminder Singh and said that we will take the matter into our own hands if the police failed to arrest the accused in three days.

Navjot Singh Sindhu said to the family, “The police have not yet arrested the accused, but if the police are unable to arrest the accused within three days, then we will take the necessary action.”

Meanwhile, Dharminder Singh’s father said, “We believe police and the government will take necessary actions in the matter.”

“We are worried about who will take care of his two children now,” he added.
