Virat Kohli Made Most Runs in a Series as a Captain

In the recently released ICC ODI list of rankings, India’s Virat Kohli has retained the number one spot for batsmen. English batsman, Jonny Bairstow made major gains in the list. After playing exceptionally in the recently concluded series against Australia, Bairstow finds himself amongst the top 10 batsmen in the ranking.

Glenn Maxwell and Alex Carey too made major gains in the ranking. After scoring their respective centuries in the final ODI, Glenn Maxwell has now jumped to 26th position, while Carey finds himself at career-best 28th position in the ranking.

Chris Woakes bowled exceptionally well in the series and was the architect in winning the second ODI and thereby making a comeback in the series. He advances three positions to career-best fourth position.

India’s Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult continue to occupy the top two position in the ranking for bowlers. Australia’s fast bowler, Josh Hazlewood has returned to the top 10 in nearly two years, thanks to his sensational bowling display in the ODI series.

Labuschagne moved up the ladder by 20 places to sit at 63rd position, his career-best, and Billings, who scored 118 in the first match, has entered the Top 100 club for the first time in his life. He stands behind Bairstow and Maxwell.

The selected Australian and England stars will board the flight to UAE for being part of their squad for IPL 2020 commencing in next two days.
