KXIP skipper and team India regular member KL Rahul praised his national captain Virat Kohli where the right hander said that the latter leads from front has amazing ability to carry other 10 guys.
He credited Kohli for bring new energy in the team and also termed him a passionate cricketer. Kl Rahul has been regular member of white ball squad and currently struggling to find his spot in the longest format of the game but as Gill is injured and likely to remain for the first Test match which will start from 4th August 2021.
It will be choice between him or Mayank to open the innings for India in the upcoming Test series.
“Playing with and under Virat Kohli, he is a different sort of captain. He is a very passionate individual. He operates at 200. 100 is the best you possibly can be at but he operates at 200.He has unbelievable ability to carry other 10 guys and pull them from 100 to 200” Rahul said.
There is talks around the corner that Cheteshwara Pujara might not be part of playing X1 considering his poor form with the bat and his inability to score big in English conditions. It might be possible Kl Rahul might get chance to bat in middle order.
The five match Test series between host and Visitors will mark the resumption of second cycle of WTC and will conclude in June 2023.
