Transfer Round-up of the day: 10th July

The action intensifies in the transfer market. Let’s read the latest happenings:

#1. Manchester United in no hurry to sell Pogba

There have been a lot of stories around Pogba’s departure and that Manchester United are ready to listen to offers, however, latest reports confirm that Manchester United are under no pressure to sell their prized asset.

According to Marca reports, Spanish giants Real Madrid would need to break the bank and pay £162million to United to lure away the French midfielder.

United won’t let go of Pogba easily and would only be tempted by a record transfer fee.

#2. Ozil to stay at Arsenal?

Mesut Ozil has been under the radar with multiple reports claiming the German might not be with Arsenal, come August. However, that seems to be on hold for now as Turking giants Fenerbahce find Ozil to be too expensive for their liking. This means Ozil might stay put in case there are no fresh offers.

#3. Liverpool close to signing record-breaker Elliott

Liverpool look set to sign Fulham’s teenage sensation Harvey Elliott, who holds the record for the youngest player to make Premier League appearance.

Elliott attracted interest from European giants such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, and RB Leipzig, but Champions League winners Liverpool took set to be ahead in the race.

#4. Barcelona turn attention to United defender

With Matthijs de Light set to be a Juventus player, Barcelona has turned their attention to Manchester United center-back Victor Lindelof to reinforce their defense. Barcelona has been proactive in the market in quest of a solid defender and with no Champions League football for the Red Devils, Lindelof might be lured to Barcelona, which is one of the biggest clubs in the World.

#5. Milan eyeing Arsenal midfielder

AC Milan has shown interest in out-of-favor Arsenal midfielder Krystian Bielik. The Poland U-21 International has been informed by Unai Emery of not featuring in his plans and the 21-year-old, in wake of regular first-team football, eyeing a move away from Arsenal.

Bielik believes his loans spell at Birmingham, Walsall, and Charlton ever since arriving from Legia Warsaw in 2015 has helped him develop his game and he is now ready to take on the best in the business.

Despite huge potential, Arsenal wants him to spend another year on loan and sign a new contract, but the player seems to be having other ideas.

Bielik has a contract with Arsenal until 2021 and the club is reluctant sellers at this stage creating something of a stalemate.

#6. West Ham out in the market for a striker

After losing Marco Arnautovic to Chinese Super League side and failing in their pursuit of Maxi Gomez, who is set to join Valencia, West Ham have restarted their search in the market for a striker and are confident of being able to land a quality player in the next month.

Callum Wilson was another named linked to the London club, however, the English striker has committed his future to AFC Bournemouth.

#7. Tottenham to go hard for Lo Celso

Tottenham Hotspurs are showing some real intent in the transfer market. Now Mauricio Pochettino is ready to splurge more cash in pursuit of fellow Argentine Giovani Lo Celso.

While Real Betis want €75m, Spurs are trying to negotiate on the price. The personal negotiations seemed to have materialized with Spurs offering three times the current wages.

PSG could make 20% of the profit made on the player, who was sold for €22m.

#8. Lemina ready to move away as United and Arsenal come calling

Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina has revealed he is ready to leave Southampton.

Amid interests from Manchester United and Arsenal, Lemina is keen to progress and move away.

He told France Football: “There is no turning back, I’m not afraid, I made a choice and I take it to the end.

“I stand by my plan, I decided to tell the [Southampton bosses] that I wanted to leave, there is no turning back.

“There is a risk, of course, but I know what I’m capable of, I’m 100 percent and I’m going to prove that I can get back to my best.

“Some clubs may be more cautious, but they already know me. Today, I am fully recovered, I worked a lot. I am ready to move on.”
