In his first stint with the Delhi franchise, Warner along with Sehwag took on the bowling attack of Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) and made a 146-run opening stand in front of the home crowd. This match was played back in the year 2011 when IPL was still new.

The right-left combination of Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan scored a lot of runs for the Delhi franchise. One of their most memorable knocks was the 138-run partnership against the Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai during the 2021 season of IPL.

Another remarkable partnership between these two batting legends for the Delhi team came against the Mumbai Indians in the 2012 IPL. They made 135 runs for the opening wicket and toyed with Mumbai bowlers.

It was at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in 2021 when Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw stood tall against a mighty KKR bowling attack and scored 132 runs for the opening stand. It is currently the fifth-best opening partnership for DC in the IPL.
