1. Fazel Atrachali – Iran defender and Puneri Paltan captain Fazel Atrachali is one of the best overseas Kabaddi player PKL has ever seen. He is not just the best foreign defender but also the best defender in the history of the tournament with 415 tackle points in 142 outings. He has been one of the key players behind Puneri’s splendid form this season and they are currently at the 2nd position in the Standings. This season Atrachali has scored 47 tackle points and is the 9thg best defender of the season as of now. Fazel Atrachali was named the best defender of PKL in season 4 after collecting 52 raid points and in season 7 too he was the best defender with 82 tackle points.

2. Abozar Mighani – Fazel Atrachali’s fellow countryman Abozar Mighani has been active in the PKL circuit since season 5 and his debut campaign was with Gujarat Giants. Mighani has 203 tackle points in 85 games over the last four seasons. He is one of only two overseas defenders with more than 200 tackle points. However, he is yet to play a match for his new side UP Yoddhas.

3. Hadi Oshtorak – Hadi Oshtorak, an Iranian all-rounder, has played for several PKL franchises. He is currently ranked 29th all-time in the league in terms of tackle points. Oshtorak has 127 tackle points in 93 games. In addition, the Iranian star has 25 raid points.

4. Mohammadreza Chiyaneh – Mohammadreza Chiyaneh of Patna Pirates won the Best Defender award in his debut season in 2021-22. He had 89 tackle points in 24 games to help Patna finish second. Chiyaneh received another PKL contract from Patna this season as a result of his consistent performance in PKL 8. However, this season Patna Pirates are not in a good form and they are currently languishing at the 9th spot in the standings. Chiyaneh is also the second best defender of Season 9 with 65 tackle points in 16 appearances.

5. Mohammad Nabibaksh – Final Iranian player to be present in this list is All-rounder Mohammad Nabibaksh who started his PKL journey in 2019 with Bengal Warriors. In his second season with the Warriors, Nabibaksh was one of the key players of the team that went on to beat Dabang Delhi K.C in PKL season 8 final. During Season 9 auction, the All-rounder was picked by Puneri Paltan. In 11 outings this season, he has scored 13 tackle points and overall he has 186 raid points and 57 tackle points.
