This Former Indian Cricketer raises major concern about Jasprit Bumrah's prolonged Injury!

Former Indian cricket team batsman Mohammad Kaif has raised concern about Jasprit Bumrah’s route to recovery following injury worries, and has questioned the VVS Laxman-led National Cricket Academy (NCA) over a lack of “transparency” regarding his expected return date.

Bumrah has been out of action since September 2022, missing the Asia Cup as well as the ODI World Cup due to a back ailment. The fast bowler is currently recovering from an injury, but his participation for the World Test Championship final against Australia in June 2023 remains uncertain.

I discovered flaws in the system. Players have been named to the team and then withdrawn prior to the game, citing a lack of fitness. This occurred lately to Bumrah, and Mohammad Shami has done it a couple of times,” Kaif told Sportskeeda.

“As a result, the NCA trainers, physios, VVS Laxman, and his team must handle these situations.” Because it is unjust to cricket fans who are anticipating Bumrah to play the next day. “I believe this is a very serious matter, and management should not take it lightly,” he said during the conversation.

Kaif went on to remark that Bumrah’s absence has been a sad affair for cricket fans, and he has requested a definitive update from the NCA and authorities regarding the fast bowler.

“There must be transparency, and before declaring the players fit, they must be thoroughly tested.” There should be no grey area; a player is either fit or will need another 10-20 days. As a Bumrah supporter, I’d like to know what injury he has, how long he’ll be out, and so on. So they should address the transparency issue and present the specific issue,” he said.
