South African Players in WPL 2024

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in India. The league was founded in 2023 and is contested by five teams. The second season of the WPL will be held from 23 February to 26 March 2024.

A total of four South African players were registered for the WPL 2024 auction. Of these, three players were sold to different teams. The following is a list of the South African players who will be participating in the WPL 2024:

Marizanne Kapp

Marizanne Kapp is a right-arm fast bowler and a right-handed batter. She is the captain of the South Africa national women’s cricket team. Kapp is a world-class all-rounder and is considered to be one of the best bowlers in the world. Shabnim Ismail is a right-arm fast bowler. She is the fastest bowler in women’s cricket and has bowled the fastest ball ever recorded in women’s cricket. Ismail is a very experienced player and has played over 100 international matches for South Africa. She is a very wicket-taking bowler and is known for her ability to bowl yorkers at speeds of over 150 km/h.

Ismail was sold to Mumbai Indians for INR 1.2 crore. She will be a key player for the Indians and will be expected to provide wickets with the new ball.

Nadine de Klerk

Nadine de Klerk is a right-arm off-spinner. She is a very talented bowler and has been in good form in recent years. De Klerk is a very consistent bowler and is known for her ability to bowl dot balls. She is also a very good fielder and has taken some stunning catches in the field.
