Indian cricketer, Robin Uthappa is all set to play for a new franchise in Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming IPL. Robin Uthappa has been a prolific run-scorer in the cash-rich league. In 177 matches, Uthappa has scored 4411 runs at an average of 28.83.

In a recent #AskRobin session, one of the users asked him about his fondest memories with MS Dhoni. To that, Uthappa said that he has many fond memories with the former Indian captain. However, the most simple and beautiful ones were when they used to sit together for meals.

I have so many fond memories with MS Dhoni. I think the most simple ones are the most beautiful ones. The ones where we had our meals together, we had a little group within the team when we were playing together and we wall would just get into one of our rooms and eat our meals together,” Robin Uthappa said.

For me, I would say that those were the simplest but the fondest memories,” Robin Uthappa was quoted in a video on Rajasthan Royals’ official Twitter page.

Having played his last game back in 2015, Uthappa is hopeful of making a comeback in the Indian team. According to him, a good IPL season for RR this year could well improve his chances of making a comeback in the Indian Team.

“I certainly believe that if we have a great season in the IPL, wonderful things could happen to me and even bring me back into the reckoning for the Indian team. I am someone who is always positive and I look for silver linings even in negative situations. So I do hope that I will be able to represent my country again and bring laurels to it,” Robin Uthappa said.

Robin Uthappa is best known for being a part of India’s 2007 World Cup-winning squad. He played a crucial role in the perennial tournament. However, a poor run of form in the series which followed after meant he was soon axed from the team. In his illustrious career, Uthappa has played 46 one-day internationals and 13T20s, scoring 934and 249 runs respectively.
