Rinku Singh and Ruturaj Gaikwad set to be part of India set-up for Ireland tour and Asian Games

Explosive UP Born batter Rinku Singh along with Ruturaj Gaikwad are all set to join the Indian camp very soon for the Ireland tour and the Asian Games at Hangzhou. The duo was left out of the Indian squad which will play against West Indies from July 12 and BCCI faced criticism especially for not giving Rinku Singh a chance.

He was at his very best during the 2023 edition of the IPL. Statistically, it was Rinku’s Best season with the bat but not so well team-wise as KKR finished 7th. And that brand new version of himself saw him score 474 runs at a near-150 strike rate.

It definitely took him to a spot where selectors can give him a heads up and love from the fans made it even more certain that he will be wearing Indian colors very soon. The 26-year-old will fly over to Ireland very soon and he will most definitely play in the 3-match T20I series set to start from August 18.

His omission from the West Indies tour and inclusion to the Ireland tour has its own reasoning. The BCCI did not want to send a very young or inexperienced side to Caribbean. They are certainly reluctant about giving chances to youngsters all at once as they prefer to try and test series by series and tour by tour.

Ruturaj Gaikwad will also join Rinku Singh for the Ireland and both are also very much in-line to play at the Asian Games from September 23 to October 8. Rinku will mainly be part of the B team as of now and going forward it seems he has plenty to build on his International career if he does well now.

Selectors insisting for more India A games to give a chance to players like Rinku Singh

The new selection committee are reportedly asking BCCI to organize frequent India A games so that players can be nurtured and groomed for the senior side instead of thrusting them straight in. It will benefit players who are similar to Rinku Singh and his batting style.

He has a tremendous ability of muscling the ball out of the park but is a little inconsistent. Yes he can come in handy in those crunch situations like he did against Gujarat Titans in the IPL but India will not always be in that situation. Can he also evolve into an innings builder because if he does, India might have a new Superstar.
