Resurgent young guns move ahead in Australian Open 2023, eye wins against big players

This Australian Open has been full of surprises till now. The young players both men and women are seen moving forward with a lot of domination in their matches whereas the experienced and top players are facing difficulties with these young guns.

Today, we also witnessed a big upset where Mackenzie McDonald beat Rafael Nadal, the defending champion. Many other players won their second-round matches today and proceeded to the third round of the Australian Open 2023.

Frances Tiafoe, an American tennis player, won his second-round match today morning in straight sets beating China’s J C Shang 6-4, 6-4, and 6-1. He dominated the match completely and didn’t face any discomfort while playing the match. He hit 20 Aces in the match which shows how strong his serve is. He now is in the third round and is a strong contender for moving into round 4.

In the other match, sixth-seeded Canadian star Felix Auger-Aliassime won his second-round match in a five-set thriller against Alex Molcan. Before the match, Felix was predicted to be the winner but the match began with Molcan eyeing an upset. Alex Molcan won the first two sets dominantly but then FAA made a great comeback.

He played some exceptional brand of tennis and won the next three sets to take the match with him and move into the next round. FAA won the match 3-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 and showed everyone his strong grit and determination.

Jannik Sinner who is given the 15th rank at this tournament also won his respective match quite easily with win in three straight sets 6-3, 6-2, and 6-2 against Tomas Etcheverry of Argentina.

In the biggest update of the day, Mackenzie McDonald, 65th rank player beat the top-seeded and the defending champion Rafael Nadal today at the Australian Open 2023. Rafa faced some discomfort in his left hip area during the match due to which he lost the match to McDonald in straight sets and bowed out of the tournament in just the second round.
