Real Sociedad confirms signing of the midfielder David Silva from Manchester City

Real Sociedad confirmed the signing the 34-year-old midfielder David Silva from the Manchester City on a free transfer on Monday. On the same day, Silva bid farewell to his Manchester City fans with a note written for them and posted on Twitter. 

Silva thanked the supporters for being with him the entire time he was associated with the Sky Blues. Silva signed a two-year contract with the La Liga club and that too without any prior information to the fans. Silva will be a part of the club until the end of 2021-22 season.

The moment his transfer was confirmed Real Sociedad website also got crashed as fans scrambled up on the club’s official website to get the further details about his transfer. 

“Real Sociedad has reached an agreement with David Silva for the Canarian footballer to play for the Txuri Urdin team for the next two seasons, until June 30, 2022,” read a statement on the club’s website.

“The player, who arrives on a free transfer after leaving Manchester City, will in the near future be incorporated into pre-season with the first team.”

Silva will be seen donning the number 21 jersey at the Anoeta Stadium, the same he wore in the Manchester City. David has so much under his store including four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and five League Cups with a ton of experience. 

He last appeared for Manchester City against Lyon in the Champions League where they lost by 3-1 on Sunday.
