She needs one more victory in her armory in order to register her name on the medal tally and with the way she is playing it seems that she is aiming for Olympic gold at the moment.

Sindhu’s dominance against her Japanese counterpart can be clearly understood by the fact that she registered victory in the first set by 21-13 followed by 22-20. This marks Sindhu’s 4th consecutive straight games victory in the Tokyo Olympics. She has not lost a single game in the tournament.

Sindhu will be playing her semifinal match against the winner of the clash between Ratchanok Intanon vs Tai Tzu Ying.

Sindhu is currently seeded sixth in the tournament and registering a victory against Yamaguchi who is seeded four in the ongoing Olympics will boost her morale to a great extent.

The quarterfinal clash between Sindhu and Yamaguchi lasted for  56 minutes.  The best thing which you will see in Sindhu’s game in the ongoing Olympics is her ability to constantly challenge her opponent by playing long rallies short and long which is adding pressure on her counterpart.

With India only winning one Silver medal so far in 49 Kg women’s weightlifting category by Mirabai Chanu it is expected that players like Sindhu, Neeraj, Bajrang, Vineesh and with Lovlina staying in contention to win medals for India so that medal tally of the nation more than 5 medals in one of the biggest sporting event in the world.
