Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) will be staging their prime T20 competition known as PSL  in February-March 2022 next year to avoid clash with IPL which is generally organized in the month of April-May as PSL was supposed to be held in April initially but organizing PSL with IPL would not be a good option for PCB financially.

psl called off due to corona break

As top overseas stars participate in IPL whereas second fiddle overseas stars take part in PSL  as per the latest reports are to believed that Lahore and Karachi are expected to host 17 matches each in PSL 2022.

As Indian broadcasters are also involved in PSL so holding IPL and PSL together in the same month from the broadcaster’s point of view is not possible.

The PSL schedule for the last two seasons got marred by the COVID-19 pandemic as it had to be stopped midway and was then resumed later. The sixth edition saw the final staging at the UAE where Multan Sultans emerged victoriously.

However, IPL 2021 was also marred by due to huge COVID-19 cases in India so it was temporarily postponed and now the second half of the cash-rich league will take part in September in UAE where 31 matches still needs to be played to decide the eventual winner of IPL.
