With a victory over U Mumba, Gujarat Giants moved up from 11th to ninth place in the Pro Kabaddi 2022 points standings. The franchise from Ahmedabad defeated the season two winners 38–36, maintaining their tenuous chances of making the playoffs.
The Giants now have 51 points after 20 games, which is the same as U Mumba in ninth position and the Haryana Steelers in seventh place. U Mumba and Gujarat Giants are behind Haryana due to their worse score difference.
