Haryana Steelers Vs. Dabang Delhi K.C

Dabang Delhi Vs. Haryana Steelers

Match number 90 of Pro Kabaddi League season 9 brought an exciting fixture in the form of a North-Indian derby between Haryana Steelers and reigning PKL champions Dabang Delhi K.C. It was a crucial match for both the sides in order to keep their Play-off hopes alive.

It was quite a close contest but the defending champions prevailed in the end by 30-42 thanks to brilliant performances by Captain Naveen Kumar and Ashu Malik. The raiding duo amassed 25 raid points in total with the former scoring 15 raid points while the latter bagged 10 raid points.

Meanwhile none of the Haryana Steelers scored a Super 10 but they tried their best to get a result in their favor. Manjeet Dahiya was able to win 7 raid points, Meetu Sharma had 4 raid points and K. Prapanjan was their best raider as he brought back 9 raid points.

In terms of defense, Haryana Steelers had a terrible tackle success rate of 28.57% as their defenders trapped only 7 tackle points. On the other hand, Dabang Delhi K.C’s defense showed the spark which they had during the initial stages and they maintained a tackle success rate of 48.48%. Their defenders gathered 11 tackle points in total.

Bengaluru Bulls Vs. Puneri Paltan

Bengaluru Bulls Vs. Puneri Paltan

Match number 91 took place between the top 2 teams in PKL – one time champions Bengaluru Bulls and Puneri Paltan. Both the teams were on a red hot form heading into the match but Paltan eventually grabbed a win by a narrow margin of 2 points.

Only one raider in the whole match scored a Super 10 and it was Neeraj Narwal for the losing cause. His raiding compatriot Bharat was not able to find sufficient rhythm and he performed below his level and scored 9 raid points. Vikash Kandola did not produce anything special either as he scored only 2 raid points.

From the other side of the mat, the winning team Puneri Paltan had small but effective contributions throughout the match. Aslam Inamdar, Mohit Goyat and Akash Shinde took care of Puneri’s raiding department as the trio brought back a total of 22 raid points but none of them were able to hit a Super 10.

Despite having a lower Raid strike rate and success rate than Bengaluru, Puneri Paltan won the match because their defense was upto the mark. The defenders were able to maintain a tackle success rate of 40.91%, which was almost double of Bengaluru’s 28.57%.

Final score line at the end of 40 minutes was 33-35.
