Gujarat Giants Vs. UP Yoddhas

VIVO Pro Kabaddi League season 9

Match number 28 of the Pro Kabaddi League season 9 featured a cracking contest between Gujarat Giants and UP Yoddhas. It was a very high scoring game and both the teams kept the pressure on each other but the Giants ultimately won the game by a margin of 6 points.

It was a captain’s performance by raider Chandran Ranjit who completed his Super 10 and ended up with outstanding 20 raid points. His raiding compatriot Rakesh also joined the party to hand a heavy defeat to Yoddhas as he also completed a Super 10 and brought back 16 raid points.

Meanwhile, the Yoddhas from UP tried their best but lack of substantial contributions from players other than Pardeep Narwal and Surinder Gill enabled the opposition to win. Both of the Raiders contain immense experience and they showed it tonight by completing their Super 10s. Pardeep won 17 raid points and Surinder Gill ended with 14 raid points to his name.

Defense from both the teams looked bleak and it was evident in their success tackle rate as Gujarat had a slightly better with 26.92% as compared to Yoddhas poor 10.71%. In terms of raid strike rate Giants maintained it 79.55% whereas Yoddhas had 76.74%. The final score line at the end of 40 minutes was 51-45.

Bengaluru Bulls Vs. Tamil Thalaivas

Bengaluru Bulls Vs Tamil Thalaivas

It is proving to be a rather troublesome season for Tamil Thalaivas as they lose yet another match by a huge margin of 17 points. It was least expected from the Thalaivas but ever since Pawan Sehrawat’s injury in the first match things have gone from bad to worse.

It was a clinical team performance by the Bengaluru Bulls who are now in the 3rd position in the points table. Raiders Vikash Kandola (7 raid points), Bharat (12 raid points) and Neeraj Narwal (5 raid points) whipped out the Tamil defense as the trio shared 24 raid points between them.

Meanwhile, raider Narendar was the only Tamil Thalaivas to reach double figures as he completed his Super 10 and won 10 raid points for the same. Visvanath V and Himanshu Singh supported Narendar by collecting 4 tackle points and 8 raid points respectively.

The Bulls dominated the Thalaivas throughout the match both attackingly as well as defensively. They had a superior tackle success rate of 62.5% in front of Tamil’s 28.57%. Bengaluru had a better raid strike rate as well with 53.66% and Thalaivas really need to find a solution before their season gets over as they maintained a raid strike rate of 43.9%.

The final score line at full time was 45-28
