The first match of the evening saw U Mumba register a convincing win against Gujarat Giants. The boys from Mumbai showed grit as well as determination and their Raiders in particular had a brilliant game.

The attacking front was led by Guman Singh, who completed his Super 10 and ended the match with 13 raid points. He was assisted by Heidarali Ekrami, Jai Bhagwan and Ashish as the trio shared 16 raid points between them.

Meanwhile, raider Rakesh from Gujarat was the best player for the team on the mat as he brought home 12 raid points but his efforts fell short as they lost the match by a margin of 12 points.

Dabang Delhi Vs. Bengal Warriors

Second fixture of matchday 17 of the Pro Kabaddi League season 9 featured the replay of 2019 PKL final as defending champions Dabang Delhi were up against Bengal Warriors. Both the teams have immense history and rivalry between which is why it is a big game regardless of the season.

This time around the Warriors were able to roar with full dominance as they defeated the table toppers by a margin of 5 points. Bengal also became only the second team to beat the resilient side from the Capital.

Both the teams looked sharp and were ready to give their all in a high-voltage contest. Naveen Kumar did not miss out on running all over the opposition defense as he completed his 7th Super 10 of the season. However, his raiding compatriots Ashu Malik (4 raid points) and Manjeet (3 raid points) did not contribute enough plus the back line leaked points consistently.

Meanwhile, the Warriors came all guns blazing as Captain Maninder Singh completed his 3rd Super 10 of the season and he received the support from All-Rounder Ajinkya Kapre who took home 3 touch points. But it was actually the defense that took Bengal over the winning line.

Their defensive department shared 16 points for the win. Right cover Vaibhav Garje starred as he trapped 6 Delhi raiders, Girish Maruti took hold of 5 tackle points, Shubham Shinde won 3 tackle points and they received the support of All-rounders Balaji D and Ajinkya Kapre.

The Final score line at the end of 40 minutes was 30-35.
