Early Life and Family
Prashanth Kumar Rai is an Indian professional Kabaddi player born on 4th April 1984 in Mangalore, Karnataka. He was born and bought up in a poor family and being the eldest of all brothers, he was eager to complete his studies and take up a job to help the financial issues of his family, a barrier came Prashant’s way when he was in the 10th grade. His physical body wanted him to try weight-lifting and so he did, till he saw his college seniors practice the intriguing game of Kabaddi.
However, that was a difficult phase in the life of Prashanth Kumar Rai. Within a small duration, Prashant lost both his mother and father. Just when he started finding his passion in Kabaddi, he was burdened with the financial responsibilities which lay on him for being the eldest of his siblings. Prashant handled everything with a smile on his face, working for Vijaya Bank and playing for their Kabaddi team as their captain. Prashant is happily married and has 2 beautiful children.

Prashanth Kumar Rai Pro Kabaddi Career
Prashanth Kumar Rai is a professional Kabaddi player who plays in Pro Kabaddi League. The raider has been playing in the Pro Kabaddi League since the inaugural season. He played his first three seasons for Telugu Titans, where he played as a backup for Rahul Chaudhary and Sukesh Hegde and was relatively successful. He had scored 54 points in 15 games for Telugu Titans in season 2.

In PKL season 4, he was a part of Dabang Delhi, where he couldn’t emulate much success as the team combination was weak. In the 5th season, he was part of the Haryana Steelers and played a crucial role in getting them to the playoffs. however, with Haryana Steelers where he scored 80 points in 16 games, which was the second-best in the team. Kumar had three super 10s and managed three super raids in the same season as well.

For the 7th Season, he was bought by Haryana Steelers. He is really aggressive on the field and has improved his performance every season. UP Yoddha spent Rs. 79 Lakhs on Prasanth for season 6, which was the highest price any team has ever quoted for him during his PKL career and the highest for a category B player in Season 6 auctions. Many teams were impressed by his performances at the Federation Cup and during the national camp which helped increase his price. His best performance was in PKL Season 6 when he was with UP Yoddha, where he managed to score 147 points in 21 matches, it was in this season that he crossed the 100 raid points in a season milestone. He will be donning the jersey of Haryana Steelers in Season 7 of Pro Kabaddi League
