Pakistan Drop Babar & Rizwan from T20I squad post Champions Trophy 2025 Debacle

Pakistan Cricket Board should change their second letter Cricket with Comedy as the kind of game these boys in Green are playing in last few years they should be abbreviated as Pakistan Comedy Board.

I am not saying this to make any inappropriate comment, let me share the list of events how they have turned into perfect comedy board to be shared in the below format:

1. Mohammad Rizwan was appointed 4 months back as skipper of White ball format which include ODI and T20I.

2. He has been sacked from captaincy role now post their disastrous campaign in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025.

3. Not only Rizwan other star batter Babar Azam who was thought as next superstar in International Cricket has also lost his place in T20 format of the game.

4. Salman Ali Agha who has done well in ODI and Test matches with meager performance in T20I format he is now captain for Pakistan.

5. Shadab Khan who was dropped from the squad, took zero wickets in Champions Cup has been not only inducted in T20I squad but handed Vice Captaincy responsibility.

6. Kamran Ghulam and Usman Khan who didn’t played single match in Champions Trophy have been dropped from the squad without playing.

7. Domestic top performers aren’t getting chance instead the players who are favorites in selectors radar are getting picked.

8. If you look at their squad you will simply laugh considering no logic in selection of players.

9. Pakistan Cricket Team top tier players are running behind captaincy instead thinking about achieving good things for Men in Green.

10. Salman Ali Agha who played 6 T20I for Pakistan is appointed as new captain in the shortest format of the game.

My Perspective:

If you look at the way Babar and Rizwan have lost their position in T20I format, and as per Aaqib Javed(Head Coach for Pakistan Cricket Team) stated that we are looking for youngsters to play the shortest format of the game and play game based on Modern Day T20 Template approach.

With Salman Ali Agha appointed as new T20I skipper, its pretty clear that Babar and Rizwan will not play T2oI format for Pakistan anymore.

Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf have been sidelined too in ODI Cricket and they are now part of T20I squad only.

Fakhar Zaman is not part of T20I and ODI squad due to suspected injury he developed while fielding against New Zealand in Karachi.

Looking at all perspectives, its an end of the road for Pakistan Cricket for sure.

Overall if we talk about Champions Trophy final, India have already qualified and it would be imperatively important to understand who they will face in the night of the final at Iconic Dubai International Stadium, Dubai on 9th March 2025 at 2.30 PM IST.
