Danish Kaneria, a former leg-spinner for Pakistan, claimed that in the ODIs, Pakistan didn’t appear to be as threatening as their traditional adversary India. He asked captain Babar Azam to start scoring runs for the team’s cause.
As Kaneria mentioned that ”this Indian team is loaded with match-winners, as you can see. In contrast, Babar Azam, who only scores for himself, is greatly relied upon by Pakistan in all three formats. The team doesn’t gain anything from Babar Azam continuing to score his own 50–60 runs, and it only results in losses. Babar has never produced a goal for the group.”

We don’t have a bowler of Shoaib Akhter‘s calibre who constantly poses a threat to take wickets. Saeed Anwar, Aamir Sohail, Imran Farhat, Taufeeq Umar, and Salman Butt are not among our intimidating openers. Former members of our middle order were Mohammad Yousuf, Younis Khan, and Inzamam-ul-Haq. Abdul Razzaq was a superb all-around player for us. Team used to be afraid of us in ODIs, but that is no longer the true, Kaneria remarked.
Babar has been performing magnificently well on his individual basis but is facing issues in leading his team to win. Pakistan’s overall performances have not been satisfying so far. Whereas, India recently won the ODI series against New Zealand. India is leading the 3 match series by 2-0 and is looking to make a clean sweep in the final ODI.
