If you have watched the Amazon Prime web series based on Australian cricket known as “The Test” where a couple of episodes are based on Indian cricket and skipper Virat Kohli. In one of the episodes, Australian spinner Nathan Lyon describes Kohli as someone who has an Australian flair in him. Also, the recent comment came from former Indian coach and ex-Australian Player Gregg Chappell who wrote in the Sydney Morning Herald column that “Kohli is the most Australian non-Australian cricketer of all time”.

To which Kohli replied that He is happy being himself and added that

“the way my personality is a representation of new India. And for me, that’s how I look at it. It’s not such in my mind a comparison to me being similar to the Australian mindset or anything like that”

He did acknowledge the fact that if you do well in Australia you will certainly grab eyeballs in World Cricket for sure as he has been touring Australia for last few years now he knows what kind of challenge Australian pitches possess. I think not only me even Jasprit who performed well on our last Australian tour will be expected to deliver the same performance again. There will be huge anticipation and excitement around cricket fans to see him bowl in Australia ahead of a first test match.

Kohli also backed his deputy Rahane adding that the latter has leadership skills inbuilt in him and he has lead India in white-ball cricket in the past with successful results so even if I am gone ahead of the second test of the ongoing Australian Tour the team will excel under Rahane’s leadership.

India and Australia will be locking horns against each other for a four-match Test series starting from December 17th 2020 which will be a day-night Test match played in Adelaide.
