Indian Premier League 2023 season is now over and we will have to wait for another 11 months for the new season to begin and bring that same joy to every house in India. This article talks about the most valuable player of the season and how did he perform.

This edition was probably the best of all till now with new domestic players smashing renowned international bowlers all around the stadium. But the player who stole all the hearts and emerged as the future face of Indian cricket is Shubman Gill.

Gill just stole the show and won the Most Valuable Player of the Season award along with the Orange Cap for scoring 890 runs this season at a strike rate of over 155 with an excellent average of 59.33 in 17 matches for his team. He broke a lot of records this season and announced his arrival on this stage.

Shubman Gill became only the second Indian player after Virat Kohli to score 800+ runs in a single IPL season and is now in the second position in the list of players who have scored the most runs in a single season of the IPL followed by Jos Buttler.

The Gujarat Titans opener scored three 100s in IPL 2023 which is a record in itself as only Virat Kohli (4) has scored more than him in a single season.

In his batting throughout the season, Gill showed immense calmness under pressure and played with absolute maturity. He has also shown some signs of a great leader and hopefully will lead the country at the highest level in the future. He has played proper cricketing shots with proper technique.

He times the ball well and has a power-hitting game too without playing innovative shots. He is having a great 2023 till now as he has scored centuries in all the formats in this year and is now eyeing the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 to make it his tournament.
