List of records Hayley Matthews smashed during West Indies’ highest ever WT20I win
West Indies Women batter Hayley Matthews has been in electric form this year and she is without a doubt enjoying her best Year so far as a Top order Batter. Currently on tour to Australia for a 3-match WT20I series, Matthews’ knock in the second tie helped West Indies register their best ever win and also chased down the highest total ever in Women’s T20 cricket.
An innings like this by a Women’s cricketer is rarely on display because she included every single element of batting in her 64 ball 132. The 25-year-old played traditional as well as some unconventional shots but one thing that was certain is that her Luck was totally by her side.
First T20I: 99* runs from 74 balls.
Second T20I: Hundred from 53 balls.

The hosts dropped Hayley Matthews not once or twice but Thrice before she reached triple figures for the 2nd time in her WT20 career. And she would also have to thank the Aussies not just for dropping her catches but also by setting up a target of 212 in which Matthews herself asked Australia to bat first.
Alyssa Healy’s side got off to a crumbling start as she got out for a golden duck while her partner Beth Mooney left the crease after scoring 29 off 22. No.3 Tahia McGrath also failed to remain stable at the crease as she left for 4 but one of Australia’s most experienced batters Ellyse Perry struck into the middle and also formed a crucial partnerhip with Phoebe Litchfield.
There it is, what an innings! 💯

Perry departed for 70 and while Litchfield remained 53 not out and Annabel Sutherland as well as George Wareham played out short cameos of 13 and 32 respectively. In response, West Indies after losing their first wicket in the 2nd over, did not lose any wicket until 186 runs were scored.
Hayley Matthews doubled up with Stefanie Taylor with the former scoring more than half of West Indies’ runs. Her strike rate was at 204 and amassed Twenty 4’s and Five 6’s. Taylor from the other end provided the supporting role by scoring 59 off 41 with a strike rate of 143 and she also struck Eleven 4’s.
