Men in Blue should focus on bilateral series and the next edition of IPL instead of winning ICC events this is the sentiment echoed by Indian cricket fans after India’s pathetic loss against England in the semi-final of T20 World Cup 2022.
Post-2013 onwards, India haven’t won single ICC trophy and the reason is pretty evident they reach the semifinal but fail to perform in the crunch phase of the game.
Talk about today’s game against three Lions they were invited to bat first, they scored 168 runs with the loss of 6 wickets against mighty England who bats deep down the order.
Secondly, playing Pant in place of DK who were given consistent chances but dropped ahead of semifinal and Pant being Pant couldn’t perform to the best of his ability.
Yuzvendra Chahal was excluded in the last edition of T20 World Cup and many eyebrows were raised back then he is again not playing in this edition of T20 World Cup except warming bench and consistent chances have been given to Ashwin despite failing at big stages.
Axar Patel has been included in the squad for what I think team still don’t why they are playing him in these conditions.
Let me share reaction from Indian cricket fans in the below format:

Kl Rahul and Rohit Sharma have been in horrendous form in this marquee event especially the latter as skipper was expected to deliver today but he failed at the big occasions.
Jasprit Bumrah pulled out from the tournament due to injury and many said he will be fit for next IPL.
India’s bowling lineup barring Arshdeep Singh hasn’t shown any spark in this competition.
Virat Kohli has been the lone warrior in this world cup with four half centuries under his belt in this marquee event and received little support from Pandya and Surya Kumar Yadav.
I think India has to do lot of ponderings ahead of other ICC events aligned in front of them and they need to think deeply post this loss about what kind of team they want to become someone who knows the art of winning bilateral series or the other who knows how to win ICC events.
Sadly we say, other sports are flourishing in India but emotions attached with cricket is something always special and the kind of cricket we have played we don’t deserve to play final and win ICC events.
