EARLY LIFE
Kynan Chenai has started shooting from an early age. He has reached this stage after battling many odds. The sportsperson has been succeeded in grabbing one of the four quotas available in the Men’s trap discipline. Kynan Chenai admits that he is a daddy’s boy who is also keen about guns & shooting. He is not only his inspiration but also his personal coach at his initial stage of shooting. When most of the youngsters are still afraid to take up guns, Kynan Chenai not only took up guns but made it a career with his determination.
PERSONAL LIFE
Kynan Chenai was born on 29th January 1991, to a wealthy Parsi family in Hyderabad. Kynan’s parents are successful in their chosen professions. Kynan’s father, Darius Chenai, is a former national shooting champion in the Trap event and now he is a businessman. Kynan’s mother, Dinaz, is a famous event stylist in the southern part of India and owns a company named 3D that manages decor and design for various events. Kynan has completed his schooling from Hebron School, Ooty in Tamil Nadu. Kynan is mostly into outdoor recreation & leisure activities. Travelling, camping, fishing, and trekking are his hobbies. In his school days, he was a part of the hockey & football team. A humble and sincere kid, Kynan Chenai was also a freestyle swimming champion for 3 years. With his swimming skills, he has also saved a life while camping in Uttarakhand. He took up the gun in 2003 and the young shooter was initially trained by his father and later, the shooter was trained under four times Olympian, Mansher Singh.
PROFESSIONAL LIFE
An eager shooter since childhood days, Chenai involved himself in competitive sports at a young age. He has represented his school in Football, Swimming, and Hockey. Kynan earned his first senior title, a gold medal, at the 2008 Trap Shooting Asian Clay Championships in Jaipur. Earlier that year, Kynan also won two gold medals at the 51st National Shotgun Championships and the Commonwealth Youth Games. The talented shooter was also a gold medallist at the 2007 Junior National Shotgun Championship. Kynan Chenai is sponsored by the Italian Firearms Manufacturing Company Beretta and is supported by non-profit organization Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ).
