Kapil Dev Impressed With Ranveer Singh’s “Natraj” Shot

Kapil Dev: The former Indian world cup winning captain Kapil Dev is impressed with the way Ranveer Singh has portrayed his “Natraj” shot on the screen.

Ranveer is playing the role of Kapil on the silver screen in the movie “83” which is about the journey of Kapil as a cricketer.

Kapil Dev was famous for his “Natraj” shot. It was a sort of a pull shot where Kapil used to lift his front foot while swiveling and transferring his weight onto the back foot.

Despite not being a professional cricketer, the way Ranveer has portrayed that shot on the screen is extraordinary.

Ranveer posted a picture on twitter today where he is seen playing the “Natraj” shot and that picture is going viral on the internet. Kapil himself quoted that tweet and said “Hats Off” to Ranveer.

Apart from Ranveer Singh depicting the role of Kapil Dev, the movie “83” also features R Badree, Hardy Sandhu, Chirag Patil, Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Bhasin, Ammy Virk and Saahil Khattar as the Men in Blue.

Deepika Padukone will play the role of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia. The film is directed by “Ek tha Tiger” fame Kabir Khan.

The film was initially announced to be released on 5th April 2019, but was later postponed to mid-August. The date has now been shifted to early summers next year due to the production delay.

People who watched cricket in the 80s would be quite eager for the release of the movie as they would want to re-live those golden memories where India had shocked the cricket world by beating West Indies in the final of the World Cup 1983.

Kapil, who was the captain of the Indian cricket team in that tournament, had led the team from the front. His running catch of Viv Richards in the final goes down as one of the best catches ever in the history of Indian cricket.
