Josie Green will be the new skipper for Tottenham Hotspur women’s team

The coaching staff and the think tank of Tottenham Hotspur women’s team appointed midfielder Josie Green as the new skipper. She will be replacing old skipper Jenna Schillaci, who took retirement from the game in June 2020.

Green who hails from Welsh has been with the team from 2016. She was spurs vice-captain in last season and extended her contract with spurs for two more years in June after making successful 14 appearances for the club in FA Womens Super League(WSL).

She has also been the member of the squad who lifted the FA Women’s Championship in 2016- 17 season. She was elated after she was appointed for the role of captain and added that she will make sure that all the players will give their best under her leadership.

I take great pride in leading by example on and off the pitch. I experienced being vice captain and leading the team out in some games last season, and I hope to build and drive the team forward this season“.

It will be a proud moment for me and family when they will watch me on television leading the side and working hard to ensure that we emerge as a winner in several encounter“. She added.

Green will certainly get help in building tactics against an opponent with the inputs of experience players like Becky Spencer, Ria Percival and Kerys Harrop who will play immense role in leadership group effectively and efficiently to a great extent.
