After a stunning display against Australia, Janneman Malan has been added to South Africa’s squad for the upcoming series against India. Before the Indian Premier League starts, the Indian team will play a short three-match ODI series against the Proteas.

Quinton de Kock will be leading the South African squad in the series. They have got many comparatively lesser-knowns in their squad this time, like Kyle Verreynne, George Lindi and Lutho Sipamla. But Janneman Malan is not unknown to anyone at this moment, after what he recently did to the Australians. In just this second ODI, he scored an unbeaten 129 from 139 balls.

On Sunday, the 8th of March, the South African team will depart for Dharamshala. They will play the first game there, and will then move to Lucknow for the second ODI. The third and final ODI will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Malan was not initially a part of the squad for the India tour but has now been added after his recent heroics.

South Africa ODI squad: Quinton de Kock (c & wk), Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen, Faf du Plessis, Kyle Verreynne, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Jon-Jon Smuts, Andile Phehlukwayo, Lungi Ngidi, Lutho Sipamla, Beuran Hendricks, Anrich Nortje, George Linde, Keshav Maharaj, Janneman Malan.

What about the Indian squad?

Though BCCI hasn’t announced the squad yet, reports suggest that players like Kedar Jadhav and Shivam Dube are almost certain to be a part of the squad. Youngster Prithvi Shaw is also expected to get a place. Though Hardik Pandya has been in red hot form in the domestic matches, he is unexpected to be called up for this series.
