Jadeja Criticize Manjrekar On Twitter: Ravindra Jadeja has hit back at Sanjay Manjrekar expressing his displeasure over remarks made by Sanjay Manjrekar, calling Jadeja a ‘bits and pieces cricketer’.  When asked if Jadeja should get a place in the XI ahead of one of the wrist spinners after a bad outing against England, Manjrekar opined:

“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner. You never actually base your judgements on exceptional results. India losing to England was an exceptional result. Spinners going for runs is exceptional and you have to understand that.”

The comments from Manjrekar came ahead of the India’s game against Bangladesh where India did replace one of the wrist spinners- Kuldeep Yadav but got Bhuvneshwar Kumar in his place. India went on to win the game as Jadeja failed to get his first World Cup game.

After Dinesh Karthik was brought into the XI, Ravindra Jadeja remained the only player to have not played a game yet. Disappointed with the non-selection and comments such as those from Manjrekar coming in, Jadeja got furious and vented out his anger via a tweet, drawing parallel with ‘verbal diarrhoea’ for his talk.

Jadeja spoke about the number of games he has played for India and the respect he deserves. Jadeja has been on the radar for India 2009 and has played over 200 International games across formats. On the other hand, Sanjay Manjrekar played just 37 Tests and 74 ODIs for India, in a career spanning 19 years.

Sanjay Manjrekar’s commentary and comments haven’t gone too well with fans either who have constantly been calling for his exodus from the commentary box. Even former captain Sourav Ganguly hit out at Manjrekar through a tweet and called him an ‘attention seeker’.
