IPL 2025: A look at the injured players so far and their replacements across the teams.
The Indian Premier League 2025 is about to complete a month in the coming week. With 30 matches done so far, the tournament is in an exciting phase, with all the teams competing quite fiercely to climb on top of the points table.
With high intensity matches being played every day, injuries and burnouts are bound to happen. Players are building their fitness levels higher by the day, but unexpected incidents during practice sessions, on field games or training may lead to injuries.
Recently, quite a few players have experienced setbacks during their stint in the IPL and have been deemed unfit to play for the matches lined ahead. Athletes from various franchises have faced an injury off late and are soon to head home, to recuperate before other commitments.

Let us look at the list of players who have suffered an injury, and the new player announced by the squad to replace them in the upcoming clashes.

The most recent player to join the list of injured athletes’ mid-way during the IPL 2025 season is the captain of Chennai Super Kings, Ruturaj Gaikwad. Due to a hairline fracture in the elbow, he has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
The five-time champions have gone back to their most trusted anchor, MS Dhoni as the captain for the impending season. Ayush Mhatre, a 17-year-old rising star in the Mumbai team, has joined the team for his base price of 30 Lakhs.
Adam Zampa, the experienced skipper from Australia, part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad, has been ruled out too, due to an unspecified injury. The SRH management has announced signing Smaran Ravichandran as his official replacement. Smaran is a left-handed batter, who plays for Karnataka in Domestic Cricket and has joined for INR 30 Lakhs.

The official replacements for Glenn Philips and Lockie Ferguson are yet to be confirmed by the respective team managements. Several names and options have been floating around, but nothing has been released as a statement by the IPL authorities.
One of the best pacers Kagiso Rabada, returned home after playing just two matches for the Gujarat Titans. Though the reason is known to be personal, it is surely a setback to the GT squad. In addition, a few players who were injured prior to the start of the tournament have recovered and joined their respective teams. Mayank Yadav is back in the Lucknow Super Giants squad and expected to play in the upcoming matches after a long layoff period.
Jasprit Bumrah returned recently and has played two matches also for the Mumbai Indians side and shown why is he the best bowler in the world currently.
With the increasing rate of injuries, the players must exercise complete caution and fitness in such situations. It shows how important it is to be prepared for all kinds of adversities and not let it damage the health conditions.
