IPL 2023 : Virat Kohli's "Curse" towards Shivam Dube lands him under hot water! BCCI to fine 10% match fees

The intensity of the Indian Premier League is a little too high this season as every player is caught in the act due to jeering emotions. As we are already mid-way through the tournament, heated moments and exchanges are expected to come into display even more.

Last night at the M. Chinnaswamy, even India’s batting Ace Virat Kohli was caught in the act. Just a day after Nitish Rana, Hrithik Shokeen and Surya Kumar received sanctions, the RCB opener was found guilty for a Level 1 offence according to the IPL Code of conduct.

“Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.” – an official statement read.

The Match referee’s decision is reportedly all set to take place and Kohli has been fined 10% of his match fees and the Delhi-born Batter has complied to the charges thus no official hearing was required. “Kohli admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” BCCI said in a release.

The incident which got Kohli under hot waters took place in the 17th over when Wayne Parnell got rid of the dangerous Shivam Dubey who was playing at 52. Parnell caught and bowled Dube and Virat Kohli knowing the importance of the wicket, celebrated with extreme joy with a tinge of anger.

The 31-year-old was also clipped uttering a few bad words for Dube who once rubbed shoulders with Kohli in the RCB dressing room before CSK bought the All-Rounders’ services. For that reason, the BCCI has lodged a sanction to clarify that rules and regulations are equal for everyone barring anyone’s seniority!
