IPL 2023 These 5 Pace bowlers could replace injured Jasprit Bumrah in Mumbai Indians squad!

2023 edition of the Indian Premier League starts in a month’s time from 31 March onwards with reigning champions Gujarat Titans taking on 4-time champions Chennai Super Kings for the opening game of the new season at Gujarat’s home – Narendra Modi Stadium.

The 16th season will see plenty of actions unfold and as a couple of franchises like Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants. There will also be a new feature in IPL 16 and it can possibly change the complexion of certain matches.

BCCI is all set to introduce the concept of “Impact player” from this season after the success of the rule in domestic cricket. Just like we see in Football or Hockey, a substitute player makes a lot of impact and from this year onwards, an Impact player could really influence the passage of a particular match.

But before we see the demo, there is a news about Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah. MI fans and management will be sweating as injured Bumrah will miss the entire course of 2023 IPL. He suffered a back injury last year and is far from recovering.

The 29-year-old has been announced unfit and he will be missing the IPL 2023 and also the very important ICC World Test Championship final if India wins the BGT by 3-1, 3-0 or 4-0. Bumrah is already going to miss 2 major events and with the ICC 50-over World cup scheduled to take place later this year, it will be wrong to rush him and have game time.

But for Mumbai Indians, Jofra Archer as well as Jasprit Bumrah could be missing in the squad and it will give headache to the management committee. But MI do have an option to replace the 2 bowlers and below are the 5 probable fast bowlers who can replace injury laden Bumrah.

  1. Taskin Ahmed (Bangladesh)
  2. Sandeep Sharma (India)
  3. Tom Curran (England)
  4. Dushmantha Chameera (Sri-Lanka)
  5. Chris Jordan (England)
