IPL 2023 : Ian Bishop confirms MS Dhoni’s anger on Tushar Deshpande and Rajvardhan Hangargekar after their inexperience outing last night!
Chennai Super Kings’ pace attack appears weak due to Deepak Chahar’s poor rhythm, Ben Stokes’ inability to bowl four overs due to injury, and Tushar Deshpande and Rajvardhan Hangargekar’s lack of expertise at this level. It was clear from the way they conducted themselves during their opening two IPL 2023 games.
The CSK would have lost even after pounding out 217 in their second game against the Lucknow Super Giants because they couldn’t contain 178 in the IPL 2023 debut against Gujarat Titans. Moeen Ali and Mitchell Santner, two spinners, saved them.

At the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Monday, the CSK pacers bowled 11 overs against LSG in front of a home audience, giving up 142 runs for just two wickets. On the belter of a Chepauk track, one could say that there wasn’t much for the seamers, but the CSK pacers were wildly off course.

The number of extras they conceded, however, would cause MS Dhoni and the CSK management nightmares. In just two games, the CSK pacers have delivered 16 wides (four against GT and 12 against LSG) and five no-balls (two against GT and three against LSG). Dhoni, who typically doesn’t divulge much, was clearly upset with his medium pacers’ lack of discipline on Monday.

The renowned cricketer joked that if CSK doesn’t cease bowling wides and no-balls, they will have to “play under a new captain.” Despite Dhoni’s smile, CSK has significant concerns about the statement. He is fully conscious of it as well.

“We spoke to Dhoni after the last match. he said (Rajvardhan) Hangargekar did exceptionally well but no-balls are unacceptable.” Sunil Gavaskar also shared his thoughts on it – “Maybe they should have some sort of penalty within the team.”
Meanwhile, CSK won their first game of the season in their first home game against KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants by 12 runs.
