IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals Steve Smith is likely to remain unavailable for the second half of marquee event

Delhi Capitals were doing extremely well in the first half of the tournament scheduled in India under the leadership of tentative skipper Rishabh Pant. But the tournament got suspended due to breach in bio secure bubble inside players hotel where they were staying which leads to increase in COVID-19 cases.

As the second half of 14th edition of IPL is likely to start from September in UAE and Capitals might miss the services of Australian star batsman Steve Smith who is focusing on Ashes 2021 series at home later this year.

He opened up about first half of the IPL where he said he wasn’t 100 percent fit and had to take painkillers for every time he went to bat in one of the biggest T20 tournaments in the world.

Smith added that he would love to be part of Australian squad for T20 World Cup but his priority is Test cricket. He concluded by stating that he wants to emulate his performance with the willow in the same way he did in Ashes in English conditions.

Delhi Capitals have enough firepower in their armoury as they have star player including the likes of Marcus Stonis, Kagiso Rabada and Anritch Nortje.
