IPL 2020, SRH VS DC: Chance to seal playoff spot as DC take on struggling SRH

dc vs srh

Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Delhi Capitals at Dubai International Ground knowing that only a win will keep their hopes alive to fight for 4th playoff spot. Delhi Capitals who have lost two matches will look to get back to winning ways knowing that a win would guarantee them a playoff spot and also they are within top two positions of the points table.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have played against top three teams and have to beat them to stay in contention for playoffs. They managed to escape defeat from jaws of victory in the last match would want to see better effort from the middle order. They fell like a pack of cards and even though pitch became slower and difficult to score still 21 from 18 should have been achieved. They rely on opening pair to set or chase score which in every match is not going bro happen.

Bairstow has been quiet for some matches and Warner has not been at his very best throughout the IPL. Their middle-order batting was a point of concern and it still is. Manish, Shankar, Holder and others have to step up the game to ensure that the collapse of the last match does not repeat. Their bowling has done a fairly good job throughout with Rashid, Natarajan leading the pack. Shankar’s ability to bowl some useful overs has also made it easy for Warner if any bowler has an off day.

Delhi Capitals might be a bit worried after losing two matches. Losing continuous games at this point in IPL could be hazardous and Ricky Ponting would know that any more hiccups and things could get tricky. Their second opener form is a concern and they would hope that Rahane comes good. Pant would also want to up his game so that the tempo if innings do not get down.

Another major concern for them would be the fifth bowler as Tushar Deshpande has gone for twelve runs per over in his last three games after impressing in his first game. They might bring Harshal Patel in his place as it also gives them some batting as well. Pitches are getting slower and teams might look to bat first to post a competitive score and then defend.

SRH would be more inclined towards bat first option after they were not able to chase a moderate score. SRH have managed to defeat DC in the first fixture, but their middle-order batting concerns make Delhi Capitals favourites for the clash.
