The India Women’s Football Team will take on the Kyrgyz Republic Women today, April 7,  at 7:30 p.m. for the 2nd leg of the 1st round of the AFC Olympics qualifier. They are eyeing to qualify for the 2nd round of the qualifiers and also aim to defeat Kyrgyz Republic in the second leg of the qualifiers as well.

The Indian team defeated the Kyrgyz Republic team by 5-0 in the first leg and started their year with a bang. The girls were able to win easily thanks to an assist from Anju Tamang and a fantastic volley from Soumya Guguloth in the first half. In the second, Shikly Devi and Renu each added two more goals. The Indian team is ranked 61st internationally, whereas the Kyrgyz Republic team is ranked 123rd. A victory or even a draw will lead India to the 2nd round of the qualifiers.
