There is no real surprise that India came hard at us at MCG, reveals Pat Cummins

Australian speedster Pat Cummins revealed during a virtual press conference that he is not surprised with the comeback from the visitors against them in the second Test match where they were outclassed by the Indian team by 8 wickets. As India suffered a humiliating loss in the first Test match where they were bundled out at the meager total of 36 runs and every cricket experts predicted that India will lose this series by 4-0.

But the Indian team proved everyone wrong and outclassed the Kangaroos in the second Test match in absence of their star players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Mohammad Shami. However, Pat Cummins said that they expected that side like India will bounce back after the emphatic loss in the first Test match.

“Any side, once they have a big loss, you know they are going to come back little-bit harder. Everyone’s incredibly proud when you are playing at this level, so no real surprise that they (India) came out really hard,” Cummins said at a virtual press conference on Wednesday.

He also praised Shubhman Gill who was playing his first test match and they both play together for the same franchise in IPL where he added that Shubhman completely backed himself and was playing his natural game which is good for India in long run. Opening the innings, Gill had scored 45 and 35* runs across two innings respectively.

“Shuby (Gill) looked good in his first Test. He is quite a calm character. Looks like, the similar way he wants to play wants to take the game on, which as a bowler provides opportunities, some days it will come off, some days it won’t,” he said.

However, he said that they are not planning to play with two spinners in the Third Test match as they have someone like Marnus Labuschagne who can chip in with a few overs in the upcoming test match for us.
